Meet John Christie, though depending on which book you’re holding, he might also answer to Alex Cambridge (non-fiction), David Roeburn (fiction), Blueberry Goggle Pants (children’s stories), or John C (music).
Each name opens a different creative doorway. After all, why live one life when you can explore five?
Born the youngest of three on Kangaroo Island, Australia, John grew up wild and free, surfing, fishing, and working on the family farm while dreaming up lyrics and stories. His first rock band never quite made it out of the shed (too many beers, not enough rehearsals), but it sparked a lifelong love of writing, music, and adventure.
A turning point came when he became a Christian, igniting his passion for people, purpose, and the messy beauty of being human. Since then, he has built businesses, raised six incredible kids (three his, three bonus), and, at last count, eight grandchildren. He has racked up a life story that’s equal parts River Deep, Mountain High.
John’s curious mind has wandered through philosophy, neurology, biblical apologetics, and personal growth, with influences ranging from Dr James Dobson to Jordan Peterson. Favourite reads include The Brain That Changes Itself (Norman Doidge), How to Change Your Mind (Michael Pollan), The Courage to Be Disliked (Ichiro Kishimi), Switch on Your Brain (Caroline Leaf), and, of course, The Bible.
These days, he writes to share, challenge, and entertain — from the heart, mind, and soul. Every book, song, and story is a little invitation to think differently and feel something real.
To his “beautiful Kathryn,” the love who keeps him grounded and inspired — thank you for being the muse behind it all.
And to the One who started it all — thank you, Jesus, for lifting this old diamond from the clay and setting him on solid rock.
No matter which name is on the cover, John’s mission is simple:
To spark curiosity, stir the spirit, and remind you that life and faith are one epic, ever-unfolding adventure.
