This story features 6-year-old Detective Hendrix, a bright young boy who always solves his cases, along with his faithful sidekick brother, Supa-Soli. Their nemesis, Chooky Wooky, is constantly up to mischief; he is half chicken and half human.
The cast also includes Jack Cracker, a corn farmer, and Arthur Baldwell, known as ‘Itchy,’ who runs an appliance repair workshop and always itches when he tells a lie. Detective Hendrix has a large inner-city office where he receives calls about crimes that need solving. He drives a magical red Ferrari that can fly.
One day, Detective Hendrix receives a call from Jack Cracker, who reports that someone has stolen his truckload of corn while it was parked at the local farmers’ market. Detective Hendrix speeds off to investigate the case. At the farmers’ market, he discovers several clues: one white feather, two chook-like footprints, three pieces of corn on the road leading away from the market, and four sets of wheel tracks. Detective Hendrix suspects that this crime may have been committed by the notorious Chooky Wooky.
This delightful story ends with the bad guys being caught. A fun educational fact is woven into the script on each page, making it a story wrapped in satisfying adventures all the way through.
